Brett has over 10 years experience in corporate insolvency, reconstruction and advisory. Brett commenced his insolvency career with PPB prior to relocating o London and working in the insolvency and reconstruction field in the UK from 2000 – 2002.

Upon returning to Australia, he spent several years with Sims Partners, which recently merged with PPB and also spent 1 year as a manager with the National Australia Bank in its Credit Restructuring Division. Brett rejoined PPB in 2006.

Brett has been involved in all forms of corporate insolvency, including investigating accounts reports, voluntary administrations, liquidations and receiverships. He has also undertaken a number of consulting assignments in relation to the restructuring of organisations, both small and large, from an operational and financial perspective.

Brett also advises banks and other financial institutions on strategies for maximising recoveries in recovery and workout scenarios.

Recent Assignments

Brett has supervised and/or played a major role in the following assignments:

• Review and implementation of a performance and management reporting framework for a large not-for-profit aged care provider;
• Advising secured creditor in relation to restructure of debtor in foreign jurisdiction
• Trading and sale of a critical business in the rail infrastructure industry;
• Preparation of Experts Report in relation to a fraud in excess of $150m;
• Credit Reviews of several non-bank financial institutions on behalf of secured creditors
• Formal appointments to large group structures for restructuring purposes
• Workout of property portfolio with assets in excess of $250m
• Advising secured creditor in relation to exposures to several ASX listed entities
