Peter BlockContact details Background and signifcant appointmentsPeter has approximately 20 years business experience, in Chartered Accounting and Investment Banking, having started as a trainee accountant in the business recovery & insolvency management division of Coopers & Lybrand in 1990. Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1996, having worked for 6 years with Coopers & Lybrand during the 1990s recession, he spent his last year on secondment at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, assisting the bank with a number of complex workout projects. He joined Lloyds Bank as an executive in corporate banking in 1996. Following ABN AMRO’s acquisition of Lloyds, he worked on several complex workouts, including Optus Vision and Burns, Philp & Co, both of which were successfully worked through. His experience also included time as a relationship & project fnance manager in the telecommunications & media space where he worked on a number of successful fnancing transactions for companies such as PBL, Optus, Austar United, SKY Network TV and Telstra Saturn in NZ and Singapore Cable Vision. In 2000, Peter moved into investment banking joining the Debt Capital Markets team (‘DCM’). From January 2005 until December 2008, he was appointed Head of DCM, Australia & New Zealand. This was a senior role covering all major global capital markets and other debt related products, with responsibilities of senior client relationship management, debt/treasury product advisory & business development, direct line management of a team of professionals and delivering an annual budget.
