Background

Mark Roufeil has had more than 20 years continuous experience in insolvency practice with more than 15 years as a principal of a small boutique firm.

He is a Chartered Accountant, Official Liquidator and Registered Bankruptcy Trustee. He has also undertaken voluntary positions as the treasurer of a successful Registered Club (eight years) that undertook a $10 million clubhouse renewal project and the honorary treasurer of a Surf Lifesaving club (three years).

Industry Experience and Specialised Expertise

Mark has had a leading role in all forms of insolvency administrations for companies and individuals’ estates. He has also undertaken the reconstruction or liquidation of solvent enterprises. His primary experience has been the conduct of formal court appointed liquidations specialising in seeking a fair and commercial result for creditors, employees
and other stakeholders.

This has involved:

• The sale of assets, property and businesses as going concerns
• Debt recovery and the completion of work in progress for realisations
• Recovering Insolvent Transactions and Insolvent Trading claims
• The preparation of expert reports on insolvency claims for evidence in Court proceedings and giving evidence in Court as an expert witness
• Dealing with and resolving complex claims from competing interests.

His experience has involved him in a broad range of industries including, manufacturing, wholesaling, retail, building and construction, road transport, property management and development, professional services, labour hire, newsagencies, liquor, hospitality and registered clubs.
